All Calaveras County Water District customers should have installed a main water shut-off valve in their personal plumbing systems on their side of the meter. These shut-off valves are usually located right next to the meter water meter near the street. They can also be located where the water service line enters the house or garage, or elsewhere on the property.
The District does not have records on where or if you have a customer service valve. Customer service water shut-off valves allow you to turn your water service on and off at any time. You do not need to notify the District that you are turning your water off.
Important note: Customers are prohibited from turning off their water service off using the valve on the District’s water meter.
