Sewer System Smoke Testing
Smoke Testing in La Contenta

The Calaveras County Water District (CCWD) will be conducting smoke testing in the La Contenta sewer collections system starting February 24, 2025, continuing through February 28, 2025. Work will occur during normal business hours, generally 0800-1600
This important testing helps identify issues such as leaks or blockages within the system. The CCWD Collections Crew will focus work on La Contenta Drive, St. Andrews, and near the La Contenta Golf Course.
Here is some general information related to smoke testing -
What you can expect:
- Smoke may appear in various locations, including streets, manholes, and possibly within your home or business if plumbing connections are faulty. The smoke is harmless, non-toxic, and poses no health risks.
- Testing times: Smoke testing will occur during daylight hours.
What to do:
- Please make sure that your plumbing fixtures are properly sealed to avoid smoke entering your property. If you see smoke indoors, it may indicate a plumbing issue that needs attention.
- If smoke is noticed inside your property, please Contact CCWD immediately.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to maintain a reliable sewer system.
