Scott Ratterman

CCWD Division 1 Director Scott Ratterman has deep roots in Calaveras County, where he grew up attending San Andreas Elementary and Calaveras High School, graduating in 1976. He went on to earn a business administration degree from Sacramento State University in 1981. By 1982, he began his career in the insurance industry with an independent adjusting firm, a path he pursued for 22 years. In 2004, Ratterman joined Farmers Insurance Co. and has since retired.

Ratterman is an active member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in San Andreas and the Knights of Columbus. From 2005 to 2012, he served on the Calaveras Community Foundation Board, including two years as vice president, and chaired several committees. He is also a member of the La Contenta Men’s Club.

In 2011, Ratterman responded to an advertisement seeking applicants for the Calaveras County Water District (CCWD) Division 1 Board of Directors. Division 1 encompasses San Andreas, Mokelumne Hill, Paloma, Valley Springs, Burson, Wallace, and parts of La Contenta. Initially selected for a six-month term, he was reappointed for a two-year term beginning in January 2012. Ratterman successfully ran for reelection in 2014 and has continued serving after subsequent elections in 2016, 2020, and 2024.

Residing in San Andreas, Ratterman is a proud single father of two grown children. Outside of his responsibilities as a CCWD Board member, he enjoys tennis, golf, boating, hiking, and cross-country skiing.
