Construction schedule: May 11 – June 9
May 22-25 – Crews will be installing ductile iron pipe on Fir Street heading northeast between Manuel Drive and Dunbar Road. Two pressure-reducing valves will be tied into the new system, and crews will pressurize and test the new section of pipeline. Residents should expect minor traffic delays while this work is taking place.
May 30 – June 2 – Crews will continue testing the new section of pipeline that was installed from the west end of Sequoia Drive to the east end of Fir Street. On Friday, June 2, crews will tie in the new section of pipeline to the existing water distribution system. Residents should expect minor traffic delays while this work is taking place.
June 5 – 9 – Crews will install ductile iron piping from near the Mini Storage on Fir Street along Dunbar Road to its intersection with Highway 4 and Blagen Road. Residents should expect minor traffic delays while this work is taking place.
Project summary
As of May 2017, T&S Construction had replaced about 16,000 feet of pipeline and another 3,000 feet remain – the project is about 85 percent finished. The remaining portions of pipeline that need to be replaced are from Pine Drive through Oak Court to Sequoia Street, and from Manuel Road along Fir Street to Dunbar Road and along Blagen Road near the Arnold Library. Substantial completion of the project is expected in July 2017.
