Reach 3A Project Update: April 26 – May 12
April 26, 2017
Due to improved weather conditions, CCWD’s contractor (T&S Construction) has resumed work on the Reach 3A Pipeline Replacement Project. Construction generally begins at 7 a.m. and ends around 3:30 p.m. This is the proposed construction schedule for the next two weeks (schedule is subject to change).
Construction schedule: April 26 – May 12
April 26-28: At the intersection of Fir Street and Manuel Road, crews will be demolishing and removing an old pressure-reducing valve and excavating an area to place a new pressure-reducing valve. This work will involve heavy equipment and there will be traffic control during construction hours. Crews will also be laying out pipe along Sequoia Road and Fir Street. Residents of Mill Woods may experience traffic delays when traveling on Manuel Road.
May 1-5: Crews will be digging a trench and installing sections of new 12-inch ductile iron pipe starting at the west end of Sequoia Road heading east across Manuel Road and along Fir Street toward Dunbar Road. This work will cause traffic delays and heavy construction equipment will be moving in and out of the area. There will be road closures and one-way traffic control on Sequoia Road, Manual Road and Fir Street. At times, through traffic will be limited to residents only. Those who live in Mill Woods are likely to experience delays.
As of April 2017, T&S Construction had replaced about 15,000 feet of pipeline and another 4,000 feet remain – the project is about 80 percent finished. The remaining portions of pipeline that need to be replaced are from Pine Drive through Oak Court to Sequoia Street, and from Manuel Road down Fir Street to Dunbar Road to Blagen Road near the Arnold Library. Substantial completion of the project is expected to be in July 2017.
