Pipeline Replacements in Rancho Calaveras to Begin February 3 - February 3, 2020

Starting Monday February 3, the Calaveras County Water District will begin replacing more than 100 water service lines prone to leaking on Kirby Street, Gabor Street and Garner Place in Rancho Calaveras.

Work will begin Monday on Gabor Street, and normal working hours will be between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Some customers will lose water service during portions of this project, because the system has to be depressurized in order to connect the new service lines to the existing water main. A boil water advisory will be in place for those customers until CCWD receives test results that show there is no harmful bacteria in the new service lines. These test results will generally be available within 48 hours. Affected residents will receive door hangers notifying them in advance of the dates and times of outages.

CCWD will minimize traffic impacts to the extent possible, but traffic control will be in place during the project. CCWD is working with the Calaveras County Public Works Department to ensure all road repairs meet applicable standards and to coordinate infrastructure projects such as this ahead of the County’s new paving program.

Project updates will be posted at www.ccwd.org, and construction is expected to be complete by the end of May 2020.

Those with questions or concerns about this project may contact Customer Service at customerservice@ccwd.org or (209) 754-3543.
