CCWD General Manager Tapped as ACWA Executive Director Designate - September 28, 2018
After four years of leading the Calaveras County Water District as general manager, Dave Eggerton announced today he is taking a new job with the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) as executive director designate starting November 1.
ACWA is the largest statewide coalition of public water agencies in the country with about 450 public agency members collectively responsible for 90% of the water delivered to cities, farms and businesses in California.
“The opportunity to lead ACWA as executive director is a dream come true for me,” Eggerton said. “As excited as I am to embark on this new journey, it’s bittersweet. I have had such a fantastic experience working with CCWD’s talented staff and Board members, and I am very proud of the accomplishments we have achieved together.”
Scott Ratterman, CCWD Board president, said Eggerton has done an excellent job during his time at CCWD and the District was fortunate to have him at the helm.
“Dave has been an invaluable asset to this District over the past four years, and the Board has been very pleased with his performance,” Ratterman said. “While I’m sad to see him go, he is moving into one of the most prestigious positions in the California water industry and congratulations are certainly in order.”
Ratterman said Eggerton will continue working for CCWD through the end of October, and the CCWD Board is expected to select an interim general manager at its October 10 meeting. The formal recruitment process for the District’s next general manger is already in process.
“I have a great deal of confidence in the District’s management team, and I expect the transition to our next general manager will go very smoothly,” Ratterman said. “We have a very capable staff, and Dave is leaving the District in good hands.”
