December 6: Reach 3A Project Update
December 6, 2016
Due to intermittent weather events, T&S Construction’s work schedule has been limited. The attached photo shows the portion of the pipeline that still needs to be replaced. See below for the tentative, weather-dependent schedule for December 6 through 23.
December 6-9: Crews will be working on pipeline tie-ins along Blagen Road. Minor traffic delays may be necessary on some days.
December 6-13: Crews will be working near the apartment complex at Longman Lane on Blagen Road near the Library. Residents will see construction equipment operating in this location as crews install a pressure reducing station and piping. Minor traffic delays may be required.
December 12-14: Crews will be finishing up a small amount of work along the Highway 4 shoulder in front of Snowshoe Brewery. Ground water, wet conditions, snow and a drain culvert are making this section challenging.
December 14-16: Crews will be testing a 12-inch and 6-inch pipeline and finishing pipeline tie-in work along Blagen Road.
December 15-19: Crews will be testing the 12-inch pipeline running through the old golf course between the Meadowmont Shopping Center and Pine Street.
December 19-20: While students are on Christmas Break at Hazel Fischer Elementary School, crews will turn off the school’s water supply in order to tie it into the new water line. The school and the local fire department have been notified.
Construction generally begins by 7 a.m. and crews head home by 3:30 p.m.
So far, T&S has replaced 15,000 feet of pipeline and another 4,000 feet remain – the project is about 80 percent finished. The remaining portions of pipeline that need to be replaced are along Pine Drive, Oak Court, Oak Circle, Sequoia Street, Fir Street, Dunbar (from Fir to Highway 4) and from Chevron to Henry Street along Blagen Road. While crews will continue working through the winter, substantial completion of the project will most likely be in spring 2017.
