The Calaveras County Water District (CCWD) Board of Directors awarded its first annual high school senior scholarship awards. Students from Bret Harte, Calaveras High School and Mountain Oaks were invited to participate and submit an essay on the importance and value of water. Two students were selected to receive $500 scholarships.

Congratulations to this year's winners: Justice Rasmussen from Bret Harte High School and Stephani Gimble of Calaveras High School. Scholarship award winner Justice Rasmussen was present at the May 2nd CCWD Board Meeting and was awarded a check for $500 from the CCWD Board of Directors for his winning essay (Stephani Gimble was not available to attend).
