After several weeks of work, T&S Construction has completed its work on the Blagen Road section of the Reach 3A Pipeline Replacement Project. Crews performed final clean-up on Friday, August 5, in preparation for the Annual Flea Market at Independence Hall, which will be held on Saturday, August 6. CCWD thanks community members for their patience when Blagen Road was closed or under one-way traffic control.

Contractors are now working on the process of boring a tunnel under Highway 4 between the south entry to the Meadowmont Shopping Center and an empty lot across the road. This will require a large hole to be dug near the shopping center parking lot. The shoulders of the eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 4 will be closed for the next couple of weeks while this work takes place, but no major traffic delays are expected. This should not cause any interruptions in water service to the surrounding businesses.

Another section of pipe the contractors will be working on over the next few weeks runs through the old Meadowmont Golf Course. Crews plan to begin work near Snowshoe Brewery and work in a northeast direction. No disruptions in service are anticipated.

Additional crews will be working on Fir Street between August 8 and 12. About 10 connections will be switched over to a new distribution line. Homes and one business in the area may see a service disruption of a few hours. All property owners are being notified in advance.

T&S Construction will also be working on grading in the parking lot near the Courtwright Emerson Memorial Ball Park by White Pines Lake, which is expected to be complete by August 12.
