Mainline Leak Disrupts Water Service in La Contenta Area
UPDATE: 10:50 a.m. – The mainline leak has been repaired and water service will be restored to those affected this morning. CCWD crews are flushing the system, and some customers may experience low pressure. Customers may experience discolored water resulting from the water leak. This is a normal occurrence after a leak, because the fluctuating pressures can cause minerals to become dislodged from pipe walls. This water is completely safe and will not harm anyone. However, if customers want to flush their systems, they can turn on an outside faucet at the lowest point of their properties until the water runs clear. Please only do this if absolutely necessary, because we are trying to save water during the drought.
If any customers do not have water service, they should contact the CCWD Customer Service Department at 209-754-3543 or email customerservice@ccwd.org.
